Artisan of the Year of 2008 - Beth Prichard

I am a lover of the outdoors, and have a passion for gardening and art. I have worked hard ,many long hours in my many changing careers, but am lucky enough to be able to retire early, which gives me the opportunity to paint, garden, and travel at will.
  
In 1984, I started with pastels and took lessons from Steve Grey for two years.  Then work got in the way of art. Later, in 1996 I began studying with Kaye Franklin, doing pastels, acrylics, and oils, which has now led to my teaching adult art classes.
  
I love to paint landscapes, waterscapes, and figures. My style of painting is considered traditional-impressionistic.  I have traveled with Kaye and her art classes, to places such as Mexico, Europe, and Hawaii. Where we met with plein air painters from these countries and they directed us to many wonderful sites and the vast beauty of their country.

I am a native of Graham, Texas, have a wonderful husband and two grown daughters that also live in Graham. Our home is in the country and is surrounded with beautiful gardens I designed and take care of myself.

One artist will be selected as the Art Splash on the Square 2009 Artisan of the Year 

  • Open to all artists, with all mediums accepted
  • Please send 3-5 photos of entry with at least 2 close-up views
  • Each entry MUST be accompanied by a completed entry form
  • Entry Deadline:  October 22, 2008
  • $10.00 entry fee
  • Notification of Winner:  October 31, 2008
  • Winning entry to be delivered no later than November 15, 2008
  • Please consider that the chosen entry will be used for
    commercial promotion of the festival, as well as souvenir items (ie: t-shirts, posters)
  • The original will be sold at auction during the festival
  • Winner receives $500; 2 tickets to Friday Preview Party
    ($110 value) and Artisan booth space during festival ($110)
  • Art Splash will own the winning entry, including copyrights
